Growing the sport
Taking a multifaceted approach to growing the sport of Disc Golf:
The popularity of disc golf has grown exponentially during the pandemic , so more courses are needed. That was our original reason for starting Goldy Disc Course Designers.
As we have spent more time entrenched in the sport, we have recognized that the sport is still male dominated. We started a Mixed Doubles league in our home state to try to get more women out on the courses.
In addition to a shortage of women, we see very few children out on the courses, so we will make it a priority to encourage schools to invest $500 to add disc golf to their phys-ed curriculums.
There is also a shortage of disc golf courses near to inner-city populations, so we will be doing our best to encourage that development.
